Advance Notice Visit to Breakwater!

Ron Smith has once again secured permission from the Queen’s Harbour Master for a boat trip to Plymouth’s historic breakwater. The details will be on the next walk programme.

We leave the marina promptly at 7.00pm for the breakwater. Access from the boat is via a 2 metre vertical ladder then we walk the 1 mile length of the breakwater, take photos etc and return to the boat and aim to reach the marina at 9.00pm (approx.). You will see such features as the 100 ton wave-breaker blocks, the seaman’s refuge, and the stone commemorating the visit of Princess Victoria etc. Breakwater can be slippery in damp conditions.

If weather is bad the trip may be changed or cancelled.

How to reserve your place

There are 40 places available (no dogs allowed) at a cost of £8.00 per head (£5.00 for children). Places on a first come first served basis and open to non-rambling friends.

Cheques payable to Ron Smith. Please send to 114D Durnford Street, PL1 3QP to reserve your place. Please include your address, telephone number and email address so that Ron can send a reminder a week or so before the trip. Once full Ron will operate a waiting list. If you need to cancel money will only be returned if your place is taken by another from this list.
