Car share
The committee have been reviewing car share arrangements, and it seems that since Covid, these are hardly being used at all. This means that members without cars have occasionally been stranded at a car share location when nobody else turns up.
The situation is untenable, so instead we are now recommending that members make their own arrangements for car share, using our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1554255671486255/) to make contact with others who would like to offer or request a ride. We hope this will prove a better strategy for the future.

Evening walks resume!

Evening walks start again on 27 June, with Diana leading a walk round Kinterbury Creek and Blackie Woods, with refreshments at the Ferry House Inn.
These walks run throughout the summer, usually 3 to 4 miles on a Thursday evening, and usually ending up with an (optional) pub visit.
If you'd like to lead an evening walk, just submit the details online in the usual way (at https://walks-manager.ramblers.org.uk), or send them to Sarah, Charles or Olwen. If you're new to leading, this could be a good way to start!

Thank you for supporting your Air Ambulances
From: Devon Air Ambulance Trust
Subject: Thank you for supporting your Air Ambulances
Date: 18 September 2023 15:54:38 BST
To: Frances Horder
Dear Frances
Thank you so much for your kind donation of £78.00.
Your support helps to save lives and reduce the impact of trauma and illness, keeping families and loved ones together. Families like Harry’s, who, aged eight, had a freak accident when out on his scooter and needed emergency care.
We are grateful for every penny we receive. As a charity, support from people like you means that we can be there when we are most needed, across Devon and beyond. Thank you.
Did you know that it is not only the speed of our service that helps patients, but also the advanced medical treatment that our clinical crew provide at the scene? Read more about our services here.
Thank you again for your support
With best wishes,
All at Devon Air Ambulance
